Tour Itinerary

Upon arrival at Cairo International Airport, you will be met and assisted by our representative who will help you during passport control, in the luggage area, and during customs formalities. Then you will take your flight to Luxor where you will be met and assisted by your Egyptologist guide who will take you to your hotel for check-in. You will then go to the West Bank of the River Nile to visit the two colossal statues known as Colossi of Memnon, which mark the site of the funerary temple of Amenhotep III. These two giant statues standing tall and proud on the West Bank are all that remain of the ancient complex. You will then tour the Valley of the Kings, which is the burial place of the kings of Thebes (ancient Luxor). You will have a brief stop at the Visitors’ Center and have time to visit three tombs. Guides are not permitted inside the tombs but your guide will tell you what to look for inside the richly decorated rooms. Here you may visit the tomb of King Tutankhamun (optional, for an additional cost). Leaving the hot sands of the Valley of the Kings, you will visit the Temple of Hatshepsut, which is one of the most striking monuments in Egypt. Your guide will introduce you to the history of the temple and the story of Queen Hatshepsut, the famous female ruler of Egypt who posed as a male to gain the throne. You will have free time to explore at your leisure as you wander the large courtyards and admire the intricate hieroglyphic decorations. In addition, you will have the chance to visit an alabaster factory and purchase genuine items if you wish. You will then be accompanied by your Egyptologist guide to visit the Karnak Temples, which is considered the largest place of worship ever built. Its ancient name I pet-it means “the most sacred of places.” The temple, or, more correctly, the complex of temples, was built more than 2,000 years ago by generation after generation of pharaohs. Within the complex, you will find the great “Hypostyle Hall,” which is an incredible forest of giant pillars. After this, you will visit the Luxor temple which was built by Amenhotep III and Ramses II for rituals and festivals dedicated to the god Amun-Ra. After the conclusion of your tour, you will be driven back to your hotel for drop-off.

Optional Night Activity:

  • Karnak Temples Sound and Light Show ($50.00 US Dollars per person).

After breakfast at your hotel, you will be driven to Luxor Airport for the return flight to Cairo to be met and assisted at the airport and be taken to the Pyramids of Giza Plateau which is about 30 minutes from Cairo where your Egyptologist guide will provide a fascinating introduction to each of the three pyramids: Cheops, Khafre and Menakaure. You will have free time to enter the burial chambers of the pyramids (optional, for an additional cost); however, your guide is not allowed to enter with you to avoid overcrowding. You may also ride a camel in the pyramids area (optional, for an additional cost). After visiting the pyramids, you will continue across the plateau for a photo opportunity of the three pyramids rising from the sands with the Cairo skyline in the background. A short drive to the city side of the plateau finds you standing at the feet of the Great Sphinx, for thousands of years the enigmatic symbol of Egypt.

Your next stop is you will visit the Egyptian Museum of Antiquities one of the best Museums in Egypt. Housing over 250,000 Egyptian artifacts, the Egyptian Museum attracts millions of visitors every year. The highlight is the priceless treasures found in the tomb of King Tutankhamun, the child king. His five-gold gilded coffins dominate the main hall while his magnificent gold mask is the star attraction! Your Egyptologist guide will introduce you to the most important pieces before allowing you to have free time to explore the museum at leisure.

Following your visit to the Egyptian Museum, you will proceed to Khan el Khalili bazaar where your guide will give you an introduction to the famous markets which claim to have inspired Christopher Columbus to discover the Americas. Here you will have free time to stroll through the maze of streets and shops and try your luck bargaining with the shop owners for a souvenir or two of your trip to Egypt or have a cup of Egyptian tea at the famous coffee shop “ El Fishawy” to enjoy the atmosphere of the bazaar. Following your visit to the Bazaar, you will be driven back to Cairo International Airport for your final departure

How can we help?

Find out our latest news, promotions, and professional tips. Know before you book your next Egypt tours

Being in Luxor for a single day is preferable to staying away. The main attractions in Luxor may be seen in one day. You can go to Hatshepsut Temple, the Valley of the Kings, Karnak Temple, and possibly one or two other monuments on a day excursion to Luxor. The truthful response would be that a day trip to Luxor is insufficient.

It is frequently described as the largest open-air museum in the world and for a good cause. You may find a ton of ruins, monuments, temples, and tombs there. You'll need at least two days of Egypt day tours to discover all that Luxor has to offer without feeling rushed.

Unless you travel with a tour group, visiting Luxor on your own can be rather stressful. Luxor has so many archaeological sites and things to do that touring each temple and cemetery may take several days and a lot of money!

There are no set meter rates for cabs in Luxor, although depending on your negotiation skills, the majority of journeys will cost between 5 and 150 Egyptian pounds (approximately $0.50 to $17). Uber and other ride-hailing services are not available in Luxor.

You should set aside about $200 for Luxor excursions, which would likely involve visiting the Luxor and Karnak Temples. West Bank Temples and the Valley of Kings and Queens. Felucca rides at sunset.

Absolutely mind blowing. A definite must see. We flew from Aswan after I contact them, as I did not want to sit in car for hours with my 10-year-old daughter. Just so much history and ancient love. You cannot miss this one thing if you are in Cairo. The rocks are just HUGE, so special.
