Description

A Journey into the Heart of Egyptian Tradition

Step beyond the usual tourist trail and into a world where tradition and culture come alive — welcome to the Birqash Camel Market Adventure. This isn’t just a tour — it’s a deep dive into the authentic soul of Egypt.

Located just outside Cairo, the Birqash Camel Market is the largest of its kind in Egypt, and visiting it is like stepping into a living, breathing cultural tapestry. Here, camels from across North and East Africa — including Egypt, Sudan, Ethiopia, and Morocco — are brought together in a vibrant display of color, sound, and tradition.

The market is at its liveliest between 7:00 AM and 10:00 AM, especially on Fridays and Sundays, when the trading reaches its peak. These are the best days to witness the energy, negotiation, and excitement of camel dealing at full throttle.

This tour offers more than just sightseeing — it’s a raw, real, and unforgettable encounter with one of Egypt’s oldest traditions. Perfect for curious travelers and culture lovers alike.

Tour Itinerary

Your adventure begins bright and early, with a 6:00 AM pickup from your hotel in Cairo or Giza by one of our experienced and friendly tour guides.

From there, you’ll head to the village of Birqash, home to Egypt’s largest camel market — a place unlike anywhere else. As you arrive, you’ll be instantly immersed in a lively and colorful atmosphere, where centuries-old traditions come to life.

The market is most active between 7:00 AM and 10:00 AM, especially on Fridays and Sundays, which are the best days to witness the bustling energy of camel trading in full swing.

As you explore, your guide will introduce you to camels from across the region — from local Egyptian breeds to those brought in from Sudan, Ethiopia, and Morocco. You'll gain fascinating insights into:

  • How camels are priced and evaluated

  • The traditional ways traders determine a camel’s age

  • The cultural and economic importance of camels in Egyptian society

Throughout the tour, you’ll have the chance to ask questions, take incredible photos, and connect with a truly unique side of Egypt.

After your unforgettable morning at the market, you'll be comfortably driven back to your hotel

Travel has helped us to understand the meaning of life and it has helped us become better people. Each time we travel, we see the world with new eyes.

Absolutely mind blowing. A definite must see. We flew from Aswan after I contact them, as I did not want to sit in car for hours with my 10-year-old daughter. Just so much history and ancient love. You cannot miss this one thing if you are in Cairo. The rocks are just HUGE, so special.

I recently traveled with my wife, daughter, son in law and two grandsons (ages 4 and 2). We had a private tour experience. From the moment we landed at the airport on our arrival to the day we left we were treated with the utmost care and attention

Our trip to was wonderful. The accommodations and travel was seamlessly arranged by customer service rep, Mona, and we visited so many of the famous Egyptian antiquities. I would not have done the trip without the very knowledgeable guides, Ashraf and Mamdouh
