Absolutely mind blowing. A definite must see. We flew from Aswan after I contact them, as I did not want to sit in car for hours with my 10-year-old daughter. Just so much history and ancient love. You cannot miss this one thing if you are in Cairo. The rocks are just HUGE, so special.

We were a family of 3 traveling with another family of 3 most of the 8 days in Egypt, plus we had another family of 3 with slightly different itinerary that had touch points with ours. Your Egypt Tours (YET) made a custom itinerary for us, with drivers and Egyptologists, and with cars in very good working condition. We spent 3.5 days in Cairo, a day in Aswan, a day in Abu Simbel and 2 days in Luxor. We took 3 internal flights and 2 road trips. Everything went very smoothly. We had great Egyptologists who took an interest in showing us around and captured some good group photos as well.
There were hiccups with our travel, as usual with any trip. The highlight was that YET helped us out every time. Our luggage was late and YET made sure to get our luggage to us from the local courier the next day. We had trouble with one of the guides, and within one hour we had a new guide. We wanted to visit for off-the-beaten-path places, and our guide made it happen. A local show was canceled, YET made sure we had a great alternate experience. Guides were able to take us to the good places where locals eat, and had tons of patience while we shopped the markets of Khan-el-Khalili.

Visiting Egypt had been on my family's bucket list for a few years now. We usually like to explore cities on our own, but knew we needed help on this destination. I was not feeling well the evening we went on this tour, but our guide worked with us to bring some amazing local Egyptian foods to us to try. (It was Ramadan so the City was in a festive mood after dark, but we never felt unsafe. So although we did not walk as much as we would normally would have, our guide was very accommodating and friendly, and we felt well-served. I think this tour is a must for anyone who wants to experience how the "real" Egyptians eat and live. We learned about some foods (like Koshary and falafel) and various meat sandwiches that I will try to recreate at home. I can't rate this tour highly enough! Be adventurous and take this tour!!!

Egypt is a Muslim country and the dress code is towards the conservative side, especially for women. That being said, we are used to seeing travelers from all over the world. My suggestion would be to wear light clothes and not to wear short shorts, short skirts and alike to avoid the occasional unwanted stare. But it's really up to you. When you visit religious places (synagogues, churches, and mosques) you do need to cover your shoulders and wear over the knee dresses, if you are planning to wear one of course. If you plan to attend the Nile dinner cruise, there is no need for formal wear unless you want to make that night a special night! You can get your visa when you arrive at Cairo Airport. It is an easy process for USA, UK, Canadian, Australian and European citizens.
